Embodying Faith with Andy Sikora
Thursday Feb 23, 2017
Thursday Feb 23, 2017
Today’s episode is with Andy Sikora, lead pastor at the Renew Communities Missional church in Ohio. It was a delight to speak with Andy about his practice. He shares what it means to truly embody faith—to walk the walk—by not simply understanding scripture but really integrating the teachings of Jesus Christ into his life in ways that allow him to be of benefit to as many people as possible.

Today’s episode is with Emmanuel Pleshe, who takes a secular approach to spirituality. He shares with me his journey through various spiritual communities and how he has come to recognise the importance of flexibility for any system of belief, and what it looks like to take what we study and apply it to how we live. He also talks about his experience with substance abuse and the role community support groups have had in his practice.

Lovingkindness with Sharon Salzberg
Thursday Feb 02, 2017
Thursday Feb 02, 2017
Today’s episode is with Sharon Salzberg, one of the founders of the Insight Meditation Society and author of a number of books, including ‘Faith’, ‘Loving Kindness’ and ‘Love Your Enemies’—co-authored with Bob Thurman. Sharon Salzberg was the first teacher I had when I first came to Buddhism, so it’s quite fitting that she’s the first Buddhist teacher I interview for Everything is Workable. She and I discuss lovingkindness, the strength and power of love, and how empathy and compassion are things we can all learn and cultivate over time.
If you’d like to suggest a guest like Sharon, you can do so through my website, www.kaitlynschatch.com
You can visit Amazon to pre-order Sharon’s newest book, Real Love, which comes out on June 6th, 2017.

Abandon Hope
Thursday Aug 25, 2016
Thursday Aug 25, 2016
Hope might seem like something necessary for life to feel workable, but along with hope generally comes a lot of expectations. By letting go of hope we can become a lot more flexible, develop a stronger sense of curiosity, and see the infinite possibilities of the future - which remains unwritten.
